Samsung plans to launch the new version of its smartphone-meets-tablet device, Galaxy Note, at its Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin, Aug. 29b. The new Samsung Galaxy Note is expected to have a 5.5-inch display, a faster processor and better camera."We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on 29 August," a Samsung spokesman said. The event will take place two days before the opening of Europe's biggest consumer electronics trade fair, IFA.
Although the company has already launched its flagship smartphone — the Samsung Galaxy S III — the Galaxy Note could also ruffle a few feathers in the smartphone scene, especially since it should come out a couple of weeks before Apple’s iPhone.Samsung, once a laggard in the Smartphone market, overtook Apple last year to become the world's largest Smartphone maker. It is also looking to defend its supremacy by refreshing its line-up ahead of the launch of the fifth version of Apple's iPhone.
Samsung launched Galaxy S3 in May, while Apple is planning a major product launch on 12 September, stoking speculation the company may announce the sale of a redesigned iPhone.
Samsung launched the original Galaxy Note in 2011, with a 5.3-inch screen and Android Ice Cream Sandwich on board. This was well received and the company announced in March that it had shipped five million Notes in five months. In June, it has sold seven million Galaxy Notes.
